We decided that we wanted to go the wireless home security route.   In our old home we had had an old fashioned type of security system, where it was all wired and then connected to the alarm company. I started to install it but gave up when it got to be too complicated.  Then we called our friend, Jim, and he made an even bigger mess out of things.  I finally just gave up and hired a company to do it.  This guy came with an assistant and got it all finished in no time.  Fortunately, I did not screw it up too bad.  In fact, I was on the right path.  That was the old house.  In the new house I got it up and running in no time.  It was a snap.  It was all wireless.  So we had it operational in just a few hours and was in place when we went on vacation.  This time we were able to go and have a good time and not have to worry about being broken into, at least worry all that much.  When we got home it was nice to see it all function just like when we left it.
