PRETTY PICTURES

My industry association wanted me to give a short talk on temp staffing.  I had to run it past the bosses, because I would be bringing real life examples in based on our company, and I wasn't sure if they wanted to reveal too much about our operations for competitive reasons.  Though most of our close competitors know we used part time workers, they don't know the secrets to our recent success.  Arnie thought it was a good idea, but Clara was against it.  This is not an area we want to be talking about, according to Clara.  She didn't think the industry could learn anything new by my speaking, and I agree.  In fact, it's just a real pain to have to prepare a talk.  You can't just get up there and talk, either.  You have to have some sort of graphic thing going on.  That means power point and pretty pictures and all that.  I called Roger at the association and tried to beg off.  He was insisting now,  that it was so late in the game.  He had not lined up a back up speaker.  He put the pressure on pretty heavy, so I went back to Arnie and Clara.
