THE MASQUERADE

Everyone seemed really sad when Johnny was gone, but I knew that there was a better place for him in the next world. He must be more relaxed, with no pressure of paying bills or living a life for the joy of others. It is just such a shame that he died during his bankruptcy, because even though he was always there for others, no one took the initiative to be there for him in his harshest of times.  Though they always claimed to be his friend, deep in my heart I knew that they were using him. Maybe I am wrong, but if I am then how can their posing friendship justify their lack of amity during his troubles? So the real question is: were they really sad when Johnny died, or do they just live their lives as a masquerade? We all live in our own disguises in a way, falling victims to the pressure of others and living on false pretenses. I just want everyone to learn from Johnny. He was a selfless man, always putting others before himself. He never expected anything in return, and that is why he engraved a mark in this world. This mark is his lesson for others and the piousness in his actions. He will forever be a legend in my heart, and as his wife I will never forget him.
